Freedom Ecotours provides premium, 3/4 day whale-watching cruises (July-October), summertime cruises and private charters. The Freedom Premium Whale Watch Cruise departs daily at 9:30 am (returning at 3.30pm) from Urangan Harbour during Hervey Bay’s peak whale-watching season from early July to early October. Hervey Bay is known as Australia’s whale-watching capital, being the first accredited Whale Heritage Site. Hundreds of humpback whales gather in the calm waters of Platypus Bay near K'Gari (Fraser Island), providing unparalleled opportunities to witness their playful behaviours, including breaching, pec-slapping, and rolling.
