In 2001, a national conservation restrictive covenant was entered into to ensure 'protection in perpetuity', and proclaimed these 100 acres - Pegarah Private Nature Reserve. It offers an extensive network of comfortable walking tracks through aged, intact, towering Blackwood and Eucalyptus forests, creek and giant man fern rainforest landscapes and King Island scrub complex with abundant sightings of rare and unique King Island birds, flora and fauna.
