If you're travelling through the heart of the South Australian Mallee and looking for a place to stretch your legs and let the kids burn some energy then a pit-stop along the Mallee Playground Trail is a no-brainer! This community-led initiative has revitalised and connected open space reserves in three local towns - Wynarka, Karoonda and Wanbi - to become the first of its kind in the region. Karoonda Playground Blast off into a new adventure at Karoonda’s space-themed playground. Inspired by the Karoonda Meteorite, the playground boasts the only three-level (10 metre high) summit tower in South Australia. With two tunnel slides (the ‘blackholes’), a lunar rover buggy ‘space tether’ flying fox, orbiting carousel, stargazing hammock and a water play area, it’s the ultimate place to play. ...
