About Wandoan Water Tower
The beautiful mural painted on one of the storage tanks acknowledges the story of the early settlers, the people from the district who served in the wars and early industries. The Wandoan Water Tank is an interesting site in the Australian Silo Art Trail. Members of the Wandoan Progress came up with the idea, ran a competition to work out what to paint on the tank and this was the finished product. The tank was painted at night with the help of an overhead projector. This was set up on the ground the image then shone on the tank. The local artists climbed onto the back of a ute and painted the outline and eventually filled it in. A great initiative by a group of proud Wandoan locals.
