About Wadjemup Museum
The Wadjemup Museum is a place for visitors to explore and learn about Rottnest Island’s rich history. Walk around the newly renovated museum and discover a range of exhibits including 40,000-year-old artefacts, vintage postcards, contemporary artworks, and incredible outdoor sculptures. Developed in partnership with the Rottnest Island Wadjemup Aboriginal Reference Group, the Wadjemup Museum shares the history of the Island through stories about imprisonment, natural history, arts and culture, and contemporary milestones like how the island was used for quarantine in 2020.
