Laverton Old Police Complex
The Outback Highway
About Laverton Old Police Complex
For over 100 years Laverton police had the unique distinction of patrolling the world's largest police beat, covering more than 600,000 square kilometres an area twice the size of France. The Old Police Complex draws you into a world of policing, crime and punishment in one of the harshest conditions in Australia. Within the Complex are the original Police Sergeant’s house, the Police Station and the jail, all of which have been extensively refurbished in recent years. The house is laid out with furniture and items, almost as it might have been when the last Sergeant left.
