About Jilamara Arts and Crafts Association, Wurrungura archive and Muluwurri Museum
Jilamara arts and crafts association is a dynamic 100% Tiwi owned and governed organisation with the Muluwurri Museum’s historical Tiwi collection, the newly established Wurrungura (digital archive and media centre), working studios and art gallery, Jilamara offers a unique visitor experience for small groups specifically interested in indigenous art. Currently groups travel by charter plane in consultation with art centre staff, by appointment only. Recent significant public outcomes for contemporary Jilamara artists include participation in the 2022 Sydney Contemporary and Melbourne Art Fairs, UNLEARNING AUSTRALIA at SeMA Seoul South Korea, NIRIN: the 22nd Biennale of Sydney, and a significant contribution to TIWI an exhibition and publication by NGV Australia in 2021.
