About Maudu Collective
Maudu Collective is a First Nations retail and art gallery space located in in Jandowae, meaning 'waterhole' in local Barrungham language. Immerse yourself in authentic Indigenous culture, experiencing bush tucker, artefacts, weaving works and workshops, didgeridoo making and sculpturing, with a strong emphasis on recycling and sustainable material practice. Owned and operated by proud Barunggum woman, Valerie Murray, Maudu Collective draws on the ancient wisdom of her ancestors. Valerie is passionate about helping people, making a difference, and teaching the next generation. Pronounced ‘maw-doo’, the word Maudu is a combination of two words: Mau, the Barunggum word for head, and Du, the Wakka-Wakka word for heart.
