Preserving the MacGillivray Post Office: A Journey Through Time Emu Ridge, a family-owned establishment since 1991, is proud to preserve the history of the MacGillivray Post Office, located in the heart of Kangaroo Island. Situated between Kingscote, Parndana, and American River, Emu Ridge offers a glimpse into the past, celebrating South Australia's postal heritage. The post office originally stood on the opposite side of the farm, owned by FH Faulding. After the property changed hands, including being divided among soldier settlers in the 1950s, the post office was relocated to the Burns family's new homestead in the late '50s.
