About Nature's Melody by Lyn Thomas
Lyn's exhibition features watercolor paintings that showcase the beauty of nature that has always meant a great deal to Lyn. Lyn is self-taught from reading magazines and books and she began painting in oils, but after retiring and coming to Leopold she joined a very friendly group of ladies at Queenscliff. Many of them had changed to water colours because the oil fumes caused problems for some folk so she also began using the new medium and quickly fell in love with it. Lyn was born in Leongatha, South Gippsland, and brought up on a farm. God's creation was all around her - the changing seasons, birds, flowers, plants, sky, and weather etc. She did a bit of art in school, but after marrying and having her three boys, life was busy and art never crossed her mind.
